Our RSHE curriculum results in the acquisition of knowledge, skills, values, emotional intelligence, strategies and attitudes that children need to access the wider curriculum. It ensures they are prepared with the attributes they need to thrive in the world they live in now and in the future.
Achievements
We want children to achieve by learning:
- how to maintain physical, mental and emotional health and wellbeing,
- ways of keeping physically and emotionally safe,
- about managing change,
- to identify different influences on health and wellbeing.
Choices
To make children aware they have choices by:
- having time to reflect on and clarify their own values and attitudes,
- exploring complex and sometimes conflicting values and attitudes,
- developing understanding of what influences their decisions,
- making decisions about how to manage risks,
- being given opportunities to make informed choices about health and wellbeing and to recognise sources of help with this.
Enjoyment
To enjoy RSHE our children are given opportunities to:
- build their confidence, resilience and self esteem,
- manage emotions and to communicate constructively in a variety of setings,
- develop an understanding of themselves,
- develop empathy and the ability to work with others.
